He briefly considered bringing up the idea of ditching class with the two for something more fun, but he already knew Maven's response based on when he tried to do that in a previous class she had. 'This is no time for such things, there will be time for that after I have given my presentation on the regenerative properties of amber on human anatomy, this is too important for my overall grade to miss!' There's no way she'd want to miss the first class for no good reason, it would 'reflect badly on her in the eyes of the professor.' She's such a nerd, he thought as he resisted the urge to smile.
