Once class was done, the Soft-Hearted Maven and the Brash Devil got ready to leave, passing clothes to each other to dry off.
As she took off her eye wear, Maven took note of the packages left at the chalkboard, debating on if she should take them with her.
"By the Hells that SUCKED" The Brash Devil loudly complained, flinging the cloth onto the desk, "That sneering ass spent this whole class looking at us like we were bugs! I bet they got a sick kick watching us all get sprayed like that!"
"The water was certainly unexpected," Maven admitted.
"And what was with the English?!" Devil continued, "This is a Correspondence class, why would we be writing in English?!"
"Well dear, you have to remember that this is a class meant for humans," Maven gently reminded him, "It is meant to be accessible on a human level, and that means starting at the very base level. Some of the students may have never had any exposure to the Correspondence before this class, so we have to start slow."
The Brash Devil just huffed. A moment of silence passed as Maven continued to gather her things.
"You didn't have to do that, you know," The Brash Devil murmured in an uncharacteristically soft voice.
Maven just smiled at him. And after a moment he smiled back before sighing and turning away, "So, I guess you want to come back?"
Maven's expression turned apologetic, "I would prefer to finish the course. You don't have to keep coming though, I can take it on my-"
"Are you kidding me? I'm not some quitter, I'm not letting that pompous jerk drive me away!"
"I doubt they are targeting you specifically," Maven laughed. Her mind drifted to the feeling of danger she had gotten from the Academic, noting it for the future, "In any case, it was nice to see the Tailor and the Piper again."
The Brash Devil grinned impishly at that, "Oh that reminds me, I saw the them go in the closet earlier. I want to be waiting for them so I can see the mortified look on the Tailor's face!"
"Really?" Maven raised an eyebrow, then sighed.
At least this meant he probably won't be trying to convince her to catch up to that one other classmate who was clearly flirting with her for... what did the Brash Devil euphemistically call it once? 'Extracurricular activities.' Not that it would be anything new for them to do with another person (or more), but for goodness sakes they'd barely spoken five minutes with anyone here aside for Tailor and Piper.
Maven reached into her carpetbag and pulled out some cloth, "Well if you insist on doing that, at least pass this onto them. They both got very soaked. I'm going to stop by the lab before we head home, you can meet me there afterward."
