The Piper giggled too. Of course the Maven would be such a good sport about getting soaked, so they weren't too disappointed by the lack of retaliation.

It did make them wonder, though, if the Maven's manners and good nature had a breaking point. Surely they did, for her to survive in London for this long? Or maybe her devil friend took care of all that for her. They seemed pretty close.

It must be nice, to have a best friend like that.
