Thursday clearly had not been paying attention to their belongings, instead caught up entirely within their journaling. They yelped a little when they suddenly saw a hand on their desk. Ah. Yes, they had made quite a sprawling mess.

"Ah, shit, thank you uhm... ah... No, I don't know your name, sorry." He pulled his book closer with an air of gratitude and awkwardness. "Are you..." he fished around for a conversation topic that would be easy to continue, but not so all-consuming it took over his note-taking. "Do you know anything about this language yourself?" Would it be a bad idea to try and peer over at the other student's notes? She tried it anyways, but the words were unintelligible to her.
