Flattery wouldn’t get you everywhere with The Academic, but Correspondence shop talk would close the rest of the distance. They beamed, and stopped erasing for a moment, to take one last look at their work.

“Well, we haven’t much time this summer, and one of the many fascinating aspects of this language is that it carries truth when inscribed. We’ll get into that as the weeks progress, naturally.” The Academic turned their attention toward The Professor, and with a confident nod: “I’m certain that you already know that there are multitudinous uses for The Correspondence, and that we needn’t merely categorize everything into “Writing” or “Engineering.” Next week I plan to go over some specializations within the greater field, and I’ve set aside class time to confer with everyone regarding how they might like to aim the arc of their individual studies. I’ll keep in mind that you might have an interest in something like this. Are you more drawn toward applications regarding communication? Learning and teaching? Any fool can strongarm information into a mind using violant, but it’s a tad gauche, if I do say so myself!”
